New BHTA Chair Announced

lisa BarryLisa Melinda Barry was announced as the first ever Chair for British Health Trades Association Scotland on the 14th of March 2014.

BHTA Scotland’s augural event took place at Scottish Parliament, Holyrood on the 28th of May 2014.

BHTA Scotland represents a wide range of businesses across the many non-pharmaceutical and assistive technology sectors. The products our members make and supply are as varied as prosthetics, wheelchairs, stairlifts, seating and positioning products, electronic communication devices, rehabilitation products, stoma and continence products and first aid equipment. BHTA Members contribute £250 M to GDP in Scotland with growth forecast in that figure.

Ultimately BHTA members are part of the solution to delivery ever more complex services to a growing aging population. We are an additional resource to your Professional Health Care Workers, whether that be NHS and/or Local Authority, delivering services their/our Service Users.

At the heart of our association is the Code of Practice, which sets out the standards that all members must meet to demonstrate best practice in their business dealings. Our members are committed to working in partnership with the NHS and local authorities to give the best quality of care and service possible.

We are working in communities across the country – delivering quality services as well as contributing to the local and national economies through jobs, apprenticeships and training.
